Why Telashay
NABL — the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, under India’s Quality Council — accredits testing labs against the same ISO/IEC 17025 standard used internationally. A lab carrying that accreditation has been independently checked, not just self-declared.
Any producer can claim their oil is pure. A NABL-accredited lab is the difference between a claim and a document — the sample is tested by a party with nothing to gain from the result, against a standard it has already been audited on. That is what "lab-verified" is actually supposed to mean.
The tests that matter most look for exactly the things that have gone wrong with mustard oil in India before — most seriously, argemone oil, a toxic adulterant with a documented history of causing epidemic dropsy when mixed into cooking oil. A lab report checks for adulterants like this, free fatty acid levels, and moisture content — the difference between an oil that is trusted because it says so, and one that is trusted because it was checked.
Typical results from our independent lab testing: no argemone oil detected, no detectable trans fat, and an eight-month shelf life with no preservatives added. The full report is available on request.
